If Your ACP Application or Certification Is Revoked

Understand What “Revoked” Means

A revoked status means PMI has cancelled or withdrawn your PMI-ACP eligibility or certification after it was approved, typically due to ethical, compliance, or integrity violations. When your status is revoked, you are no longer recognized as a PMI-ACP credential holder or eligible candidate until the issue is formally resolved with PMI.

Reasons for Revocation of PMI-ACP Certification or Eligibility

  • Ethics or Code of Conduct Violation: Breaching PMI’s Code of Ethics through dishonesty, misconduct, or misrepresentation.
  • Fraudulent Information: Providing false or misleading information during your application, audit, or exam process.
  • Cheating or Exam Misconduct: Engaging in prohibited behavior such as sharing or using unauthorized exam content, impersonation, or violating PMI’s exam rules.
  • Failure to Maintain Certification: Not meeting Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) or failing to earn the required PDUs within the renewal cycle.
  • Non-compliance with PMI Policies: Ignoring PMI’s requests for information, or failing to respond to verification or ethics reviews.

What to Do If Your Status Is Revoked

Review PMI’s Notification:
Carefully read the revocation notice sent by PMI. It will outline the specific reason for the revocation of your PMI-ACP certification and any available next steps or deadlines.

Contact PMI:
Reach out to PMI through their official support or ethics department if you need clarification about the PMI-ACP revocation or guidance on how to resolve the issue.

Submit an Appeal:
If you believe the revocation was issued in error or due to a misunderstanding, you may file a formal appeal. Ensure that you submit it within the timeframe specified in the notice.

Provide Supporting Evidence:
Prepare and include clear documentation to support your case, such as communication records, audit logs, training completion certificates, or any other relevant materials that validate your position regarding your PMI-ACP certification.

If the Revocation Is Upheld

  • You will lose your PMI-ACP credential or eligibility permanently in cases involving fraud or serious ethical violations.

  • You may be restricted from reapplying for a specific period or indefinitely, depending on the severity of the violation.

  • Your name will be removed from PMI’s official list of active PMI-ACP credential holders.

Prevent Revocation in the Future

To maintain your PMI-ACP certification and avoid revocation:

    • Always provide accurate and verifiable information in your application and during audits.

    • Follow PMI’s Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct at all times.

    • Do not share, copy, or reproduce any PMI-ACP exam materials.

    • Keep your Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) records up to date and submit your PDUs before the renewal deadline.

    • Maintain honest and transparent communication with PMI if any issue arises.
