Renew Your PMI- RMP Certification
To maintain your PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) certification, you must renew it every three years by fulfilling the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) established by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Renewal Requirements
Earn 30 PDUs (Professional Development Units):
To maintain your PMI-RMP certification, you must earn 30 PDUs over a 3-year cycle. PDUs can be gained through education, professional practice, or by giving back to the risk management or project management community. This includes activities like attending risk-related courses, webinars, workshops, or volunteering.
Submit Your PDUs:
Log in to your PMI account and report your PDUs using the CCR Dashboard on PMI’s official website. Be sure to accurately classify your PDUs in line with PMI’s Talent Triangle and CCR guidelines.
Pay the Renewal Fee:
Maintain Active PMI Membership (Optional but Recommended):
While not mandatory, an active PMI membership gives you access to member-only webinars, discounted courses, and helpful tools to earn PDUs more easily and stay current with industry best practices.
You can start submitting PDUs at any time during your three-year PMI-RMP certification cycle. It is recommended to complete all 30 PDUs before your cycle’s end date to avoid suspension or expiration of your certification.
